Description

Many railroaders have problems with reverse loops.

The majority in available units for this purpose are working with a short circuit detector

It does not need any explanation hat that would be rather destructive for your precious material.

This unit gives an ultimate solution in digital systems.

It uses the normal current detection for switching the loop into the right polarity.

Using a stepper motor seems to be the most simple way of moving a turntable or fiddle yard to the desired position.

And because mostly all of us will have one or more stepmotors available from any old printer/scanner/ disk-drive, we have to deal with a wide variety.

And if there are no motors available, stilla wide variety of these motors are available from Conrad, Reichelt Rapid, etc.

Description

In the real world, the most used way of train detection is done by a so called wheel or axle counter.

This counter is a magnetic system, positioned between the rails and close to it.

Mostly there are two, one on each rail.

A passing wheel will be detected, and in this way a passing amount of wheels is counted.

Entering the next block, th…

Description

The use of Reed-Switches is fairly common in garden railroad environment.

It is cheap but face a few problems.

First there is the 'contact dender', causing multiple contacts in one switch action.

Rocrail does not have any problem with that, as long as it is just a simple feed-back.

But using the switch as a wheel-counter (or magnet counter here) would give some problems.

And specially thi…
