The MGV133 offers a reliable way of detection by reflection:

It detects cars rolling over it without the need of drawing current.
The IR-sender is placed at the down side of the bras pipe. The IR-receiver is placed at the right of it.
The MGV133 does not detect IR signals other than the 36kHz which it generates, so it is useable every where even with direct sun light.
