Intention

Now and then the following problem appears: A signal has two aspects, red (Hp0) and green (Hp1), another signal with two aspects, a so-called coupled signal, also has two aspects, red (Hp0) and yellow (Hp2). Rocrail knows only one variant for each type (semaphore or light signal), namely the one with red and green. A coupled signal cannot therefore be represented in any other way than the "normal" signal. Both times the symbol looks the same and the coupled signal shows green an the symbol, but the signal shows yellow (Hp2). Functionally this does not matter, it is only about the optics.

Meanwhile, accessory# (accessory numbers) are available for signals, with which a specific symbol can be used. With the help of the accessory# and a corresponding signal symbol, in principle each signal can be given an individual symbol.

If you are already there, you can also adapt everything to your personal preferences.

Signals

In accordance with the symbols of older Rocrail revisions, with foot. The outline of the symbol always remains the same (except for pure protection signals). The symbol has one or two lamps. Three lamps only for exit signals and certain Ks signals. Semaphores and light signals differ only in the arrangement of the lamps.

Accessory# and Prefix are only used if necessary. Otherwise the (modified) standard signals are used.

The abbreviations mean:

  • HS: Main signal, Sp: Track obstruction signal, F: Semaphore, L: Colour light signal, 2: Number of aspects (example for two aspects). To be configured on the tab "Details" in the signal properties.
  • #10: Accessory# (example for accessory# 10). To be set on the "General" tab of the signal properties.
  • ks8-: Prefix for multi-ascpect signals (example for prefix of a Ks signal with eight ascpects). Enter the prefix on the "Details" tab of the signal properties.

Semaphores

Block Signal

Prototype: The signal has one arm, the lamp is below the arm relatively high up on the signal.
Symbols: One lamp at the top, either red or green.

Two coupled arms

Prototype: Signal with two arms, below the upper arm there is a lamp that glows red or green by means of a color disk, below the lower arm there is a lamp that either glows yellow or does not glow (is covered).
Symbol: Due to the coupling, only two aspects are possible. Upper lamp red or green, lower lamp off (grey) or yellow.

Two independent arms

Prototype: Signal with two arms, below the upper arm there is a lamp that glows red or green by means of a color disk, below the lower arm there is a lamp that either glows yellow or does not glow (is covered).
Symbol: Upper lamp red or green, lower lamp off (grey) or yellow.

Colour Light Signals

Block Signal

Prototype: The signal screen has a red and a green lamp next to each other at the bottom.
Symbol: One lamp at the bottom, either red or green.

Coupled Colour Light Signal

Prototype: Light entry signal with three lights, red and yellow at the bottom of the screen and green at the top right.
Symbol: Due to the coupling only two aspects are possible. One lamp at the top either green or off (grey), one lamp at the bottom either yellow or red.

Entry Signal

Prototype: Signal with three lights, two (red and yellow) at the bottom of the screen, one green at the top right. Symbol: One lamp at the top either green or off (grey), one lamp at the bottom either yellow or red or off (grey).

Exit Signal

Prototype: Exit signal with Hp00 (two red lights on top of the screen, no longer in use today), one green light on top, protection signal, yellow light below.
Symbol: Three lamps, red or green at the top, red or white or off (grey) in the middle, yellow or white or off (grey) at the bottom.

Ks Signals

2 acpects coupled Ks signal

Prototype: Ks signal as main signal with two lights, red and green on the screen, a speed indicator Zs3 with display of white numbers above.
Symbol: Due to the coupling Ks1 only in combination with Zs3. Two lamps, one white or off at the top (grey), one red or green in the middle.

Multi-section signal with eight aspects

Prototype: Ks signal as multi-section signal with speed indicator Zs3 and speed indicator Zs3v.
Symbol: Three lamps, upper white or off (grey), middle red or green or green flashing or yellow or white or off (grey), lower yellow or white or off (grey). Zs3 symbolised by upper lamp (except Sh1 and marker light), Zs3v symbolised by lower lamp (except Sh1).

Note: The flashing aspect is suitable for Rocview only, Rocweb cannot display flashing symbols. Alternatively, for Rocweb a symbol with standing green light at Ks1+Zs3+Zs3v can be used.

Downloading

Interested in my symbols? That makes me happy, because then the work was not in vain, but only unpaid ;-)
To let me know at all if anyone is interested in the symbols, the symbols are not available for simple download, but very gladly upon request. Registered users of the forum can send me (user "Besra") a friendly1) PN and tell me in it which symbols they would like to have. Answers are usually given promptly, in exceptional cases it may take a few days.

I reserve the right to refuse clumsy one-liners à la "symbols please" and messages without usual salutations.
