How to handle
In automatic mode the switch must report the new position after it has been set to avoid running into not set routes.
Some decoders handle this job like the GCA136.

Alternative approach
The Route switch time can be used to avoid wiring the switches to sensors.
This approach is not guaranteed to work under all conditions and should be setup experimenting optimizing this time.
